Kane's First Bite!

I have to apologize to everyone who has read our blog. I have done a HORRIBLE job updating it. I have now committed myself to update the blog more often, so please continue to visit.


Life in the Ast house has been a little crazy. I am back to work now and feel like I run around with my head cut off all the time. The babysitter Kane is going to seems to be doing a good job, though I still wonder what he is doing much of the day. I can't believe it, but he is almost 4 months old now and is growing like a weed. Every morning Jeff and I look at him and both say, "WOW I think he grew over night!" Tonight we fed him rice cereal for the first time and he seemed to like it at first, though by the end of the bowl he did not like it at all. Look at how cute his YUCK face is on the attached video.

Kane's 2 Month Appointment

Kane had his 2 month appointment today. He now weighs 13 lbs. 9 oz. and is 23 1/2 in long. His weight is in the 80th percentile and his height is in the 75th percentile. He is growing like crazy. Overall he is a big boy. He also got three shots today at his appointment. He screamed like crazy, though was over it about 10 minutes later. He has been tired this afternoon but no fever yet. (knock on wood)

I go back to work Thursday and I am pretty nervous about it. I just can't believe 10 weeks went sooo quickly. I am dreading going back to work but know I have to get it over with sometime. Kane will be going to a home daycare here in Andover. The lady he is going to only has one other infant and then a 2 year old son. I am hoping since she does not have a lot of children Kane will get more one on one attention. I really wish I could hook a camera up to him so I could see everything that she does, but I can't so I have to trust she is treating him well.
